I’m a designer and developer


I’m a freelance designer and developer. My focus is on designing websites with a right balance in design, usability and functionality. Now I have more than 20 years of experience in digital design and development. In 2005 I founded studio red187 and in 2013  the webhosting company WP Smart Host that specializes in in WordPress Hosting.

My evolution in a nutshell

2014 – Present

I develop a lot of sites with WordPress, but I had trouble finding webhosts that fit my need. So in Juli 2013 I founded a webhosting company dedicated to WordPress Hosting. Please visit for more information.

2007 – Present

In 2005 I founded studio red187 to earn some extra money in the evening hours. In 2007, when I moved to France I decided to go freelance. Back in the Netherlands I was used to work for myself, and continued to do so. Check out my portfolio to see my work.

2007 – 2012

Moved to France for a great adventure, we transformed an old farmhouse into a B&B. Unfortunately the economic recession hit us too, and we decided to move back to the Netherlands.

2001 – 2008

Recruited by Pareto in Zoetermeer. I worked there as a web designer, web developer and project manager at several web projects. Also contracted by the Police of Rotterdam to work on internal web applications.

1997 – 2001

At YACHT ICT as IT consultant and web designer, contracted by agencies like Shell and Centocor. In the evening of 1999 I studied Graphics Design at the LOI.

1997 – 1997

IT consultant at Siemens Nederland trough a temp agency.

1992 – 1997

School of Information Technology. Technovium 3th price winner with the project “computer controlled telescope”.

1988 – 1992

School of electronic engineering.
